In a bid to curb the increased cases of bodaboda operators being arrested for using expired and fake licenses, Ndumberi bodaboda management has kicked out 13 operators from the Sacco.
Three other operators were kicked out for engaging in criminal activities.
Speaking at Ndumberi grounds where the bodaboda operators had a meeting on Thursday, one of the chairmen, Mr Francis Njenga, said that the operators had been warned against operating with expired and fake licenses.
He said those who were removed from the Sacco were notorious and had been arrested on several occasions hence posed a risk to the Sacco.
The chairman revealed that the management had come together to ensure the operators adhere to traffic rules and possess the necessary documents required for one to operate.
He said that most riders were breaking traffic rules forgetting that such mistakes pose a risk to the entire Sacco.
“Among the 16, three were kicked out for being suspected to work with criminals during the night. The Sacco cannot allow its members to be engaging in crime or promoting crime for whatever reason,” said Njenga.
He added: "We are very strict when it comes to road safety and traffic rules. We are going to conduct regular inspections to curb such menaces.”
