The education system in Kenya should be reviewed to focus on skills rather than just focusing on excellence.
Denis Muchiri, a training operations manager at CAP Youth Empowerment Institute said the education system in Kenya has a lot of challenges.
This, he attributes to lack of skills, skills mismatch and lack of soft skills that can empower youths.
Speaking to this writer on Friday, Muchiri noted that in Kenya education system, there is a big gap between skills provider and skills consumers.
"Not until we incorporate all life skills in the education system, we will still face challenges as a nation," said Muchiri.
The skills trainer also appealed to the government to ensure the vocational centres are empowered to ensure potential employees come out of these institutions.
He also called on curriculum developers to ensure they incorporate all stakeholders in Education sector.
