The three slain children of Kapsoya MCA aspirant, James Ratemo, will be buried at Nyacheke village, Kisii county.
This is after the Uasin Gishu county government rejected a proposal to bury the children in Eldoret town.
According to Ratemo's family lawyer, Charles Nyamweya, the county disallowed burial in the town, citing health reasons.
“We have written to the family responding to the request to bury the bodies at Kapsoya. Usually, we do not allow such burials within the town as per the law,” county Health CeC Margaret Chepkwony said.
The Star reports Nyamwaye said the family was instead, allowed to bury the bodies of Clifford Nyamweya, 7, Dan Nyamweya, 5, and Glen Ongaki, 3, at Kiplombe Christian Cemetery, with all costs waived, but they opted to find a different site in Kisii.
The burial is slated for June 9.
“Owing to what has happened, the family requires time to prepare for the burial in Kisii. That is why we have set a date that gives about two weeks to prepare,” said Nyamweya.
