Nicholas Kibagendi, a Seventh Day Adventist pastor who went missing a couple of weeks ago from his Borabu home is dead.
The cleric was last seen making a phone call and walked out of his house four weeks ago and failed to return, prompting a thorough hunt by local police.
“He left as we were preparing for breakfast but did not return. I was worried and called his two lines but he was off,” his wife, Jennifer Kibagendi told reporters last month.
And on Thursday, neighbours first spotted a decapitated and decomposing head about 10 am before his torso was discovered 20 minutes later about 150 metres away near former Minister Lawrence Sagini’s homestead.
Phone records shows that the 54- year old father of five last used his phone in the nearby Nyansiongo market before he went missing on 20th April.
Until his death, Kibagendi, whose badly mutilated body was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, was attached to Nyamira SDA Conference Headquarters.
The motive of the killing is yet to be established by investigating authorities.
