The family of Caroline Odinga, is now seeking justice, following her death.

She, who served as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Deputy Presiding Officer at Miyare Primary School polling centre in Siaya County, in the August 8 general election, was found dead, Friday August 19, by passer-by

Joseph Sewe, Odinga's father in-law called on the police to speed up investigations into the unfortunate incident, for the family to get justice.

She was a teacher at Ugenya High School, and had left home to the school, to pick some books, for her son, Friday evening.

“We had been looking for her from August 18 evening but she was nowhere to be found. She had not shared with us any threats on her life," Sewe told the Nation.

Siaya County Police Commander, Sarah Duncan, said preliminary investigations indicated Odinga was gang-raped, and that her genitals and left ear were badly mutilated.She noted that the body had been transferred to Siaya County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
