Upcoming businesswomen have been encouraged to go for business-related courses as a way of staying relevant in the competitive and fast-changing business environment.Jane Mwende, the co-proprietor and a manager of the renowned Topstar Supermarket in Matuu speaking in a community entrepreneurs gathering yesterday said that women in business need to seek relevant knowledge to be able to detect the changing trends in the sector."Women nowadays have tossed themselves in the field of business that has traditionally been dominated by men," said Mwende. She added: "Many are doing well be it selling vegetables at a local kiosk or running a hotel like this one because they're making profits, the reason why we all go to business. However, I would like to encourage them to seek business knowledge by enrolling in short business courses to stay informed."She noted that as the business grows and expands, new challenges tend to emerge which require some level of competence to address."Don't allow yourself at any single time to be in a comfort zone because that will stagnate you and cut down your zest to find out more about the business you are running. Always yearn for more," she said
