Kiamaina Ward Member of the County Assembly Samuel Kamau said this when he addressed farmers in the area over the weekend during the launch of a farmer’s self-help group at Kiamaina trading centre.

The MCA told members of the newly formed Kiamaina Small Scale Farmers Group (KSFG) that they stood better chances of prosperity by collectively saving and seeking information on how to improve and increase their farming products and markets.

He added: “It is only such initiatives that will make you realise prosperity. I urge you to unite and collectively seek development. This area is blessed with adequate rain and fertile soils to boost farming while its proximity to the Nakuru urban centre would boost their market and investment goals.”

Kamau advised the group members to visit local agricultural offices for information on farming and investment skills in order to diversify their productivity.

He told the fifty farmers engaging in poultry, horticulture, livestock and tea farming that their humble beginning was necessary for future prosperity. Kamau advised the farmers to aim at starting a savings and credit corporation like many other farmers across the region who were reaping benefits.
