Uasin Gishu County government is determined to empower small scale business persons through giving them funds.
According to the Director of Markets and Licensing Silas Letting, the funds will be given inform of loans.
"In this financial year we have set aside Sh100 million which will be given to businessman inform loans to improve their businesses," he said.
Speaking after meeting business persons from Eldoret wholesale market on Tuesday, Letting said the funds are at their disposal and the traders can apply for them.
"Out of the Sh100 million, Sh70 million will be given to small scale businessmen, while the rest to wholesale traders," he said.
He added the county government has constructed 44 markets and will soon construct an ultra-modern wholesale hawkers market at Kimumu, at a cost of Sh100 million.
