"Am working with NACADA and we are in the process of coming up with a way whereby sniffer dogs will be used randomly to check the drugs in schools.

This vice has greatly affected the learning and also the concentration of the students. We are leaders and parents have an obligation to ensure that our children are kept away at all times from the drugs", Kuria said.

Kuria who was opening the Kiambu County Music and Festival said that the headteachers together with the other teachers should ensure that drugs are not use in the school compound.

"The headteachers and all those who are working in the school should avoid the use of cigarretes, alcohol or even other kind of drug  in the school compound. We will not allow ourself to sit and watch our young children being denied the opportunities to exploit their talents due to drug abuse", Kuria said
