The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has admitted that social media is still a serious threat to the Country's cohesion and integration.

Addressing the press during the County Peace and Cohesion Forum at Border Palace Hotel in Busia Town on Tuesday, NCIC Commissioner Prof Gitile Naituli said social media is a very serious threat.

"As we speak there are over 300 cases pending in our court's system. These young people usually in social media seem not deterred. Even if you arrest them they keep on spilling hate and harassing another fellow Kenyans. It is a threat that we have to learn how to live with it. Also, It is there and you can't ignore it. We will continue doing our work and ensure hate mongers are taken to court," he said.
