Nowadays it cannot take five minutes before news is spread to over millions of people.

Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter among other social media platforms have made it possible.

The rise of smart phones in today's churches has changed what used to be pure, to impure. This was confirmed by Pastor Godfrey Okal of St Gabriel Fellowship Centre, Rarieda Sub-County.

Speaking to the believers, the pastor said it was sad to see a believer busy browsing when the church service is on.

“You are busy preaching but when you cast your eyes on the multitude, you notice that a number is busy using his or her phone. I pretended to be moving towards them and was shocked to see many are facebooking, others are on whatsApp,'' He said.

He said many families were now breaking, reason, either of the partner is dating someone through social media.

“Just a few months ago I had to settle a dispute between couples. The man was claiming that his wife would leave him that she is going for saints meeting yet she was going to meet a person she met on social media.”

He urged the believers to use social media responsibly and not in a way that is condemned.
