[Photo|Eddy Illah]There has been a social media uproar over alleged water shortage in Kisumu few days after a local TV station aired a story about water shortage in Seme.Kenyans, especially those following governance and leadership matters in Kisumu took to social media to talk about the matter. Some accused Governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o's administration of failing to address water shortage issues unlike the previous Jack Ranguma's government while some said the Prof was working hard and that the Seme water shortage story should not be used to gauge the governor's water achievements.The conversation on Facebook which was started by one Hezron Omondi Omollo forced Governor Nyong'o's communication team officials to respond to defend him on Wednesday.Eddy Illah said: "Prof Nyong'o has already shown his commitment to solve this perennial water shortage in kisumu. In November last year he did organise a Water Investment Conference in Kisumu that brought together various stakeholders and professionals in the field to discuss possible solutions to the current water challenges. This three day conference was capture by the same media but they couldn't give any reference to it as some of the steps the new governor has taken in trying to solve the water scarcity."Captain Lennox Xavier defended Nyong'o's administration by saying: "The over excitement being displayed on social media in reference to Nyamsiri Village water shortage is uncalled for. Three months down the line Governor Prof. Anyang' Nyong'o has been ranked the third best performing Governor in our motherland country Kenya. It will be only fair to pat his back for achieving this great milestone. On 29th November 2017, the result oriented Governor held Kisumu County Water Investment Conference in Kisumu County the soul aim being solving not only Nyamsiri Villagers water shortage predicaments but also putting in mind residents of Oneno Nam, Anding'o Opanga all the way to Songor in Muhoroni. To be precise to find a long time remedy to water scarcity in the great county of Kisumu.
