Food, clean water, shelter and clothing are only viewed as luxuries for this street families.
Recently in Eldoret town, there has been a fuss between street urchins and the police where the police have been accused of killing the young men.
This led to riots and arrest of some of the young men. Why is the government quiet on the issue? These are young men who lack the opportunity of fending for themselves due to the stigma from the society.
All human beings require care and provision of the basic human needs. The attitude formed towards the street families should also be stopped.
The government should provide a place for these people on the streets where they can access the basic needs in life inclusive of education and other survival techniques.
The society should also be objective in their daily dealings. A human being is very important no matter the situation he or she dwells in and the street urchins need support to overcome the daily challenges they undergo through.
