Family Umoja Children's home in Kirai, Gatundu North on Wednesday benefited from foodstuffs and clothes provided by Farmers Party Leader David Kigochi.
Kigochi urged the well-to-do members of the society to be remembering the orphans and the poor in the society, and at least provide some help to them, especially this festive period.
"Let us remember the less fortunate in the society especially during this festive season. Let us spread the spirit of love and sharing. These orphaned children need our support and love and should enjoy like the other children," said Kigochi.
The home's director, Stella Ngugi and the children expressed their happiness and gratitude, and asked the society to be remembering them from time to time.
"We are happy for this gesture of love. We feel loved and taken care of. You are welcome at any other time,” said Ngugi.
"There are many rich people around who rarely remember the orphaned. We are happy as we will enjoy this Christmas as the rest,” said Steve Kimani, one of the children.
