Kenya Premier League side Sofapaka FC have been accused of 'dubiously' trying to lure Kenyan international Kepha Aswani from his current Nakumatt Fc club.Batoto Ba Mungu recently announced that they had acquired the services of the talismanic striker on a three-year deal from Nakumatt but the Shoppers have now come out to deny the information terming it false.According to Nakumatt Fc secretary Albert Wesonga who spoke to Goal.com on Saturday, the club has not released any player and as such Aswani is still theirs."We have not heard of any transfers involving our player. As far as we are concerned, Aswani is still our player. He has a contract with us and any deal involving the player we have to know.It is a breach of contract and we might consider taking legal action against Sofapaka for engaging our player in transfer discussion without our consent," he said."No one has been released by Nakumatt and if other teams are interested in our players then there are channels to be followed," he added.Aswani was instrumental for the Shoppers in the recently concluded 2017 season where he bagged 13 goals.

He also featured for Harambee Stars during the Cecafa senior challenge tourneyHis situation is however not one of a kind as reigning champions Gor Mahia and rivals Tusker Fc are currently embroiled in a bitter tussle over the services of former Nzoia Sugar playmaker Lawrence Juma with both clubs claiming to have signed him first.
