Kenya Premier League side Sofapaka FC will give all it takes to ensure that they bag the league title at the end of the 2018 season, club chairman Elly Kalekwa has revealed.

Speaking to the club website on Wednesday, Kalekwa assured that all the weak areas that cost the team the title last season had been strengthened and that they would stop at nothing to reclaim the title from current champions Gor Mahia.

"If a team finishes second, the only other option you have is to win it (title) the following year.Everyone here wants the title. We have the thirst to win the league this year," he said.

We have strengthened weak areas that made us miss the title last season and I can say that we have the best squad in the league this season. That's why we are signing top players," he added.

Among the big names the club has signed include former Ulinzi Stars man Stephen Waruru, former Nakumatt goal poacher Kepha Aswani, former AFC Leopards shot stopper Ian Otieno and Burundian sensation Moussa Omar.

Batoto Ba Mungu finished a distant second behind Gor Mahia in the 2017 season despite a sluggish start to the season.

They open their 2018 campaign against Bandari FC at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on February 4.
