Last season's Kenya Premier League runners-up Sofapaka have put reigning champions Gor Mahia on notice ahead of the new season.
According to the club's top management, Sofapaka is aiming at finishing the 2018 season with a silverware.
In an exclusive interview with the club's portal on Wednesday, Sofapaka president Ellie Kalekwa reiterated the side's hunger to lift the KPL title.
“If a team finishes second, the only other option you have is to win it (title) the following year. Everyone here wants the title. We have the thirst to win the league this year," he stated.
Kalekwa further alluded to the club's new signings, exuding confidence that they will help them win trophies.
“We have strengthened weak areas that made us miss the title last season and I can say that we have the best squad in the league this season. That’s why we are signing top players," he said.
Sofapaka has since acquired the services of Stephen Waruru and Kepha Aswani in a bid to bolster their striking force.
Sofapaka will be entertaining Coast-based side Bandari FC in their opening fixture into the new season.
