Sofapaka is set to being crowned this year's Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions when the season ends.

This is according to their Ugandan import Rodgers Aloro.

The former Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) said that the six-point gap between Sofapaka and league leaders Gor Mahia could be bridged should they focus and pick maximum points in their remaining games.

Aloro says winning their second leg match against Gor will give them more confidence and reduce the gap to three points.

“We beat them 2-0 in our first encounter at Kinoru. The combination in the team was not good then since we had more than seven players from different clubs and we had not gelled yet we managed a win.

“If we beat them in our return match we will reduce the gap to three points. If we keep on winning, we will catch up with them and probably win the league.

“This is football and anything can happen. The playing unit has a good chemistry now and we are confident we can deliver to our fans and in line with our set goals,” he said as quoted by the Star.
