Kisumu residents are set to benefit from green energy after ‘Solar Now Company’ officially launched its first branch in the country.
The company located in Kisumu, advocates for the use of solar energy in Africa as an effort of providing affordable energy to those who are not connected to electricity grids in rural areas.
The Director and co-founder, Ronallo Schuur Huizen observed that most parts of Africa experience a lot of sunshine therefore necessary and efficient to provide cutting edge technology that will enable Africans to tap solar energy.
Huizen said Solar Now Company was different from other solar companies in Africa since they offer a range of products and also allow purchase on credit.
“Our products also have longer warranty,” assured Huizen.
The company deals in solar equipment like water pumps, refrigerators, lamps, television sets and iron boxes.
According to Huizen, Solar Now is the largest solar company in Uganda and they intend to extend the more markets in Kenya and other African countries.
The company is targeting 50 branches in Kenya in the next two years, with their immediate prospective branches set to be opened in Kitale, Kisii, Bungoma and Siaya by August this year.
