Presidential Independent Candidate Solomon Gichira has pulled out of the race with only 17 days left to August 8 polls.

He announced that he will support President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election.

Mr. Gichira earlier tried to commit suicide at the IEBC offices after the electoral body rejected his nominations papers claiming he was late to submit.

Kenya's top seat is hotly contestant by 2 main competitors; Jubilee’s incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition's Raila Odinga.
