Nakuru deputy Governor Joseph Ruto says solving land disputes is key to fostering peace before next year's general election.
The DG echoed Land PS Mariamu El Maawy's statement on the importance of solving land rows to calming unnecessary tensions.
"If we work together we shall solve these issues before the next elections. This will ease the tension that land issues bring especially during campaign times and we all know its sensitivity,’ Ruto said.
He spoke in his office on Monday when the El Maawy paid him a courtesy call.
The PS said that the ministry will deploy 15 teams of officers to be dedicated to different counties who will work with the locals in registration of different lands.
