Newly elected Somalia President Mohamed Farmajo paid his first visit to Kenya on Thursday. He was welcomed at Statehouse by President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Kenyan military that hailed him with a 21 gun salute.
As tradition has it, he inspected the guard of honour and proceeded to hold a talk with the Kenyan premier.
Mr Abdullahi thanked the Kenyan Commander in Chief for his efforts to curb Al-Shabaab in Somalia and emphasized on the need to promote bilateral relations.
He later stated the need for integration and cooperation between Kenya and the horn of Africa.
President Uhuru mentioned the previous works of the Somali president and stated that he was no stranger to leadership as he handled his responsibilities with diligence and skill.
" He joins us here today to give our joint agenda a fresh start. We all know what that agenda is," he explained as he hinted towards the Al-Shabaab menace.
