Gor Mahia Football Club has sent condolences to the families of the fallen fans, who died as a result of a road accident on Sunday in Machakos.
The fans were heading to the Machakos Stadium for the match against Thika United before their bus was involved in a grisly road accident.
Gor Mahia, through their Facebook page, sent their condolences to the families and friends of the fans.
“Our heartfelt and sincere condolences to family, friends, relatives and the entire Gor Mahia family on the loss of three fans who were involved in a road accident along Mombasa road this afternoon en route to Machakos Stadium,”
“We would like to wish a quick and speedy recovery to the injured fans. We are Gor Mahia FC, one big united family and together we will rise up and be stronger,”
Gor went on to honour the fallen fans with a spectacular win against Thika, coming from behind twice to bag the three points at the water-logged stadium.
The 5-2 win saw the champions win their fifth consecutive tie, and perched them atop the Kenya Premier League standings.
Gor have 25 points from nine matches, two points above second-placed Mathare United, who have played three more matches than Gor.
