A somber mood engulfed Pembe Mbili village in Mwariki in the outskirts of Nakuru Town after a 38-year-old man was found dead on Friday in a suspected suicide incident.
Confirming the incident, the area assistant Chief Joseph Macharia said the deceased had marital problems with his wife.
The man had allegedly called his family and told them of his intention to take away his life.
“One month ago, the couple visited my office due to marital problems. Later, they came to my office and informed me that they had reconciled and that they were back together. However, I received a report this morning that Kinyanjui had hanged himself,’ added the chief.
Though his family declined to talk to reporters, his neighbors also expressed shock over the incident saying that they did not notice anything amiss.
The body was taken by police to Nakuru County mortuary for postmortem.
