It was a somber mood at the Nakuru county government mortuary on Wednesday  morning as relatives of 25-year-old Susan Njeri  Kinuthia who was on Tuesday  night shot dead by his husband, who also killed himself, at Pangani estate in Nakuru arrived to view the bodies.

The incident happened at Page one Apartment at 8.00pm.

The killer, identified as police constable  Stephen Mungai Kimani from Molo police station, is said to have picked an AK 47 with 20 rounds of ammunition  at 6pm to go on duty at Molo.

It is not clear how he left duty and traveled to Nakuru.

Relatives broke down in tears as they viewed the two bodies which were taken to the morgue by police officers after clearing the crime scene.

The couple has been in marriage for about seven years and has reportedly been having domestic problems.

Police officers who visited the scene said the two had gunshot wounds on the head.

Nine spent

cartridges were recovered.

Neighbors are still trying to come to terms with the bizarre incident which is the latest one involving a police officer.

The couple left behind a five year old son.

According to Nakuru OCPD Joshua Omukatta investigations are still underway.
