A section of residents at Kakamega have been disappointed after President Uhuru Kenyatta failed to appear at the Devolution conference.
The locals who had been waiting since morning, felt disappointed that the president was not able to address them physically.
The president was expected to travel to Kakamega for the conference but canceled due to bad weather.
Here are some reactions from residents of the county:
“I am very disappointed with President Uhuru Kenyatta. I have been waiting all day hoping he would appear but, sadly I understand, that he is no longer coming,” stated Kevin Wambani.
“When I heard that Uhuru was coming, I sewed him a shirt with his portrait as the President. Now I understand he is not going to come. I am very disappointed,” said Jonah Shimonje.
“The president has really failed the people of Kakamega. We thought that this was our opportunity to see him and at least greet him, but now he has disappeared again,” noted Francis Anduka.
“This is very sad. I brought the president this sugar cane hoping to gift him. I understand he is a busy man but I hope he will find time and visit us” said Mary Wesonga an elderly woman.
