A man has broken the hands of his mother just because she claimed that he was a thief.
The incident happened at Nyaore village, Kitutu Chache South constituency in Kisii County.
According to residents, the woman identified as Magoma alleged that her son had stolen chicken.
"The woman was angry after unknown people stole chicken from her home. She then linked her son to the ordeal which angered the son who started fighting her," said Titus Nyananga a local.
Area assistant chief Ben Onsase confirmed the incident and said the woman is currently admitted at Marani sub county hospital where she is receiving treatment.
“The woman sustained serious injuries on her head, neck and hands following the brutal attack. She is receiving treatment at Marani sub county hospital,” he said.
Onsase said the suspect went into hiding after the incident but he is being trailed to Mosocho where he is suspected to have gone into hiding.
He called on members of the public not to be quick to judge but instead report any issues they face to the police.
