[Photo/Nation]An elderly woman was stabbed to death by her son-in-law on Tuesday at Gichiengo village, Lari constituency. The man identified as George Nderu had come to visit his mother-in-law, Rahab Njeri, in search of his wife who had fled from her matrimonial home after an unknown family dispute. The incident occurred after visitors who had come to visit Njeri's home left upon Nderu's arrival. The visitors said Nderu was warmly welcomed by the mother-in-law. After walking a short distance, they had noises coming from Njeri's home where they returned quickly only to find her body lying covered with blood. "When we arrived at the home we found Njeri lying in a pool of blood and immediately we informed the police," one of the villagers said. The police trailed the suspect to his home in Limuru where he had locked himself and consumed suspected pesticide. Uplands police boss, Isaiah Odhiambo said the suspect was taken to Tigoni Hospital for treatment.Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Kiambu that you want Hivisasa to cover?
