A viral video in which Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Nyali MP Mohammed Ali in which supporters allied to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho ambushed the two leaders has resurfaced.
Both leaders had made an early entry to Kongowea market in Nyali constituency hours before the arrival of President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday.
In the video, Governor Sonko is seen pleading with unruly NASA supporters who were threatening to eject them from the place while Ali, the area MP is seeing watching in disbelief.
With the two leaders remaining defiant and unmoved, the angry opposition supporters are seen walking away chanting anti-Jubilee slogans.
Ali contested Nyali seat as an independent and managed to floor Said Abdallah of ODM who had beaten him in the Orange party primaries.
Although the celebrated journalist had vowed to work closely with opposition leader Raila Odinga, he made a surprise appearance in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s rally.
The protestors are also heard chanting pro- Joho slogans as they exited the scene where Kenyatta later held a public rally.
