Nairobi senator Mike Sonko has said that there will be massive defections of politicians from different political parties after the next general election due to the new law which bans party hoping.
According to Sonko, the new law is good for the countries politics but it will force many to run as independent candidates.
"The reality is that there will be defections. People will run as independent candidates even though they still support the various coalitions," said Sonko.
However, the Nairobi lawmaker did not say whether he would go down that path himself considering he has been he has been quoted hinting at a possibility of quitting Jubilee.
"I am in Jubilee. That is all,"he stated.
Sonko who has declared an interest in the Nairobi gubernatorial seat is set to face stiff competition during the nomination process.
