Nairobi Senator Mike Nbuvi Sonko has attributed the recent cholera outbreaks in the city to the opposition block's (NASA) bad leadership.
Briefing the media after attending a church service at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Embakasi Nairobi Sunday, Sonko who is also eyeing the city's gubernatorial spot said the alliance which runs the county through ODM governor Evans Kidero has failed to put in place proper measures to ensure a clean city.
''It is only Nairobi that is facing the cholera outbreak and this is because the opposition and the Nairobi county government are doing very little to ensure a clean water supply and sufficient garbage collection,'' said the Senator.
The governor further took jabs at the NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga over his recent claims that he cannot work with him (Sonko).Railaon Friday during a campaign tour of the city urged the city residents to re-elect the incumbent with Sonko saying that the former Premier is bitter with him for having turned down his request to have him run for Machakos County governor on a NASA ticket.
''Raila's campaigns against me are because he is bitter with me.Himself and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka wanted me to run for Machakos and I refused hence the hatred,'' said Sonko.
Sonko who is vying on the Jubilee Party ticket will battle it out with Kidero, Miguna Miguna and Peter Kenneth in the race for the 47th county top spot.
