Speaking on Radio Jambo Saturday, the lawmaker hit out at the county bosses, taking issue with their alleged poor performance and inability to deliver on their pre-election promises.

He named Nairobi county chief Mike Mbuvi Sonko and his Muranga counterpart Mwangi Wa Iria as part of the team, noting that they have deserted their mandate and are instead overly involved in the ongoing 2022 presidential succession debate.

''The bid to achieve a lot out of our devolution system is being paralyzed by the likes of Governors Mike Sonko and Mwangi Wa Iria who have failed on their job and instead of concentrating on developing their regions are busy talking and arguing about 2022,'' revealed the Senator whose list also includes Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.

He called upon the county heads to give their all towards ensuring the success of the lower government's, stressing on the need for enhanced service delivery among other responsibilities.

''Governors should do their jobs effectively as the success of devolution and development of our counties depend on them. There is need for them to ensure that Kenyans get the best services and tame the growing county debt menace,'' he added.
