In a Facebook post, Sonko said that when he has money, he likes sponsoring students to empower the community.

“Nikiwa na pesa I like sponsoring students wasome nasio ile sponsor ingine mnapenda,” he clarifies.

“We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community kama vile leaders wengine wanalia lia coz of nominations yet service delivery yao iko down,” he adds throwing a jibe at stingy and non-performing public office holders.

“Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own I believe that education is the fundamental method of social progress and reform.”

He adds that through education, the society can formulate its own purposes, organise its own means and resources, and thus shape itself.

“How I wish senate tuko na bursary fund but nikiwa governor I will create a special kitty for education. I enjoyed receiving massage from students I sponsored in their education.”

After this, one Karanja Ascorer said Sonko’s implemention was lacking.

“It’s a different story, imagine the case some members of your team are asking for a tea of 25k from needy students in order to be sponsored by you. Hiyo si ukora?” he posed.

He added, “And they are claiming that they are the ones who sign cheques. So you may think you are doing a good work but they are others who are busy injuring it. To make the matter worse, they are from your team.”

But Sonko said there were many imposters purporting to be him and others masquerading as his PAs.

“Kindly unfollow them and if you have the evidence of your allegations share with me I track them down,” Sonko said.
