After DPP Keriako Tobiko ordered police boss Joseph Boinnet to investigate Nairobi senator Mike Mbuvi sonko over the "acting President" remarks which he made during the funeral of former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti's husband at Kinanie, Athi- river on October 14, 2016, Sonko has said that he has no apologies to make pertaining his remarks.
Through his Facebook official page, Sonko claims that he is innocent and that his remarks were not against the law. "I hereby decline to withdraw my statement based on my innocent comments, honesty and loyalty to the CIC Hon Uhuru M Kenyatta, our able and serving President."
He has also ignored stories and video clips on the social media saying that they were edited. "I hereby clarify that my utterances were altered in the edited clip to depid my social, political and influence based position as challenged presidency."
During the funerals, sonko said, " Rais Uhuru is in Togo, DPP William Ruto ako France, I am number three in command politically and socially. I am now the acting president of the republic of Kenya" remarks which forced Tobiko order immediate investigations on the matter.
