[Photo: the-star.co.ke]Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was on Sunday given the mantle to lead the Akamba community after he honoured his pre-election pledge to donate a 14-seater van to the community elders.The elders had requested a vehicle in July when they installed Sonko as a Kamba elder and endorsed him for the Nairobi governor race.Boniface Kilonzo, the Chairman,  thanked Sonko for his generosity and for minding the welfare of the elders.Kilonzo said Governor Sonko was visionary and should lead the Akamba community."We have seen the future and are sure of Mr Sonko's good leadership. We give him the mantle to lead the Akamba community, "said Kilonzo.Speaking at the same time during the handover of the vehicle to the elders at his home in Mua Hills, Sonko thanked the elders for their blessings and prayers."I thank the elders who have walked the journey with me. I give them this 14-seater van as my appreciation and will give them another in due course," said Sonko while also promising to purchase a similar van to a group of women dancers who had accompanied the elders.The van will be used by the elders for their transport needs.
