Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko claims that some politicians from the Mt Kenya region have been holding night meetings to short-change Deputy President William Ruto come 2022.
Sonko, who together with DP Ruto attended a Sunday service at PCEA Evergreen Church in Runda, Nairobi, warned the politicians against the secret plans.

The 2022 succession debate has been a hot subject, with some Jubilee Party leaders telling the DP that he will not get automatic support from the Mt Kenya region in five years time.
Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu had told Ruto that he was not guaranteed support from the Mt Kenya region in the 2022 General Election.
"We will also revisit many issues that will happen during the next four years when we go to make decisions in 2022. (For example, when the President asks MPs to distribute committee leadership positions in Parliament inclusively to ensure we have a good balance and some refuse to heed his call, we note this and will revisit)," Wambugu said.
MPs Moses Kuria (Gatundu South) and Kimani Ichung'wa (Kikuyu) are among Mt Kenya leaders who have assured the DP of unwavering support come 2022.
Ruto has supported President Uhuru Kenyatta twice, in 2013 and 2017 elections, and is expected to be Jubilee's presidential candidate come 2022.
His URP party was among 14 other political outfits that folded to form Jubilee.
