Distractors are playing in the background to ensure that the current Nairobi county leadership does not deliver the promises they promised their electorate.
This is according to Governor Mike Sonko.
Speaking on Wednesday at the Milimani Law Courts where his friend and EALA MP Simon Mbugua was charged with robbery, the governor said that he will not allow such schemers to win.
“There are so many opponents who want to bring my administration down by associating me with negative occurrences and portraying Nairobi as having many challenges. I will not focus on these sideshows and instead serve the people,” he said.
He said that there was mischief in the way police were handling the case in which Nairobi businessman Timothy Muriuki was attacked by goons.
“It was a must for me to come and stand in solidarity with my friend Mbugua over his arrest which is part of the scheme to provoke and intimidate me. I still urge the police to arrest the goons who assaulted Muriuki because their faces are known,” said Sonko.
“There is something else being cooked to derail my administration and this has come out since the suspected goons attacked Muriuki. That will however be a story for another day which will be dealt with later,” he added.
