Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has affirmed that he is a man of his own as he seeks to unseat Nairobi governor Evans Kidero during the forthcoming polls.
Speaking on Sunday, the lawmaker dismissed claims by gubernatorial hopeful Peter Kenneth that he is Deputy President William Ruto's protégé in Nairobi, adding that Kenneth was only bitter because he lost the Jubilee Party ticket to him
“PK should stop dragging the name of the DP to this, saying that he was rigged out. If he was a genuine party member, he should have exhausted all the available mechanisms,” Sonko asserted.
His sentiments were reiterated by Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh and Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja, who claimed that Kenneth was Kidero's project out to divide Jubilee's votes in Nairobi.
“You are saying that Sonko is Deputy President William Ruto’s project. Of course he is; Ruto is the DP. We know PK is now Peter Kidero. He is kidero’s project. There is not Uhuru Kenyatta without Ruto,” Shebesh stated.
