Nairobi senator Mike Sonko has finally recorded a statement with police at DCI headquarters over remarks he made over the weekend purporting to be the acting president.

According to the Standard, Sonko was at the DCI on Sunday for two hours before leaving at about 8pm.

In the statement, the senator denied the claims and said there were witnesses to defend what he had said.

Earlier, Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko had ordered police to carry out a probe into utterances Sonko allegedly made during the burial of former Kathiani Wavinya Ndeti’s husband.
