As part of his elaborate plans to defeat what he calls 'cartels' Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has continued to seal money laundering loopholes within City Hall.
On Tuesday, the Jubilee governor made a distress call to DCI over Sh6.2 million which he claims were paid to a printing firm without his consent.
Before inviting the DCI, the flamboyant governor had sanctioned the payment allegedly orchestrated by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi.
"The consent issued on April 16, 2018 is hereby set aside pending an inter-parties hearing of this application," ordered Chief Magistrate Edna Nyaloti in an application made by Sonko.
According to Sonko, Momanyi, a long time city lawyer, ordered payment of Sh6.2 million to General Suppliers Limited without the consent from City Hall.
In a number of interviews, the second term Wiper MP has persistently dismissed Sonko adding that his woes are politically motivated.
