Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has said his life is in danger.
Sonko retreated to his Mua Hills home where he says he feels 'a bit safe'.
The embattled governor has even been forced to wear a bullet proof vest and beef up his private guards.
"My troubles started when I called Nairobi police boss Mr Kamwende and told him I want to write a statement against this one man who has threatened to eliminate me," Sonko said.
The governor claimed he listened to a clip where Interior CS Karanja Kibicho allegedly says he controls the security apparatus in Kenya and can eliminate Sonko.
Also Sonko got his security scaled down.
He said as such, he fears operating within the city.
"I have to cut down on my movements. This is a serious threat to my life because of this one man and his cartels," the governor added.
