Nairobi boss Mike Mbuvi Sonko has given a hint to Nairobins over his future steps in serving the city as part of his responsibility.Through a tweet on Monday, Governor Sonko said his government will provide waste management by-laws that will help improve proper waste disposal by the city dwellers.
"My government will revise waste management by-laws to include provisions on waste prevention," Sonko tweeted
The governor further mentioned that his executive team will launch a communication campaign through which they will educate the city residents on the importance of waste management and how proper waste disposal is vital to their health and the environment.
"We shall launch a sustained, education and communication campaign informing residents on the importance of managing waste properly & its importance to their health and the environment," the tweet continued.
This follows after he declared that any city dweller who will be spotted illegally dumping wastes will be arrested.
Governor Sonko urged Nairobi residents to take the responsibility of keeping the city clean. He also gave out a phone number through which anyone who spots the other disposing wastes illegally would reach him.
