Just three days after Nairobi governor remained the sole manager of Nairobi county, President Uhuru Kenyatta has come out to encourage him to soldier on and serve the people of the county.
Sonko was left the lone manager of the city county following the resignation of his deputy Polycarp Igathe.
However, the president seems to be in support of Sonko.
Sources close to State House say that after the resignation, Sonko called Uhuru who had flown to South Africa and personally delivered the news.
It is understood that the president pledged to continue working with the governor and asked his to keep working towards the realisation of promises they made to the electorate ahead of the August 8 polls.
