Led by the minority chief whip Peter Imwatok, the ward reps said the county is in a mess because the governor lacks someone under him to advise him.

Imwatok who was addressing a press conference at City Hall criticized Governor Sonko of poor states on the roads, garbage menace, increased street children and traffic problems.

He said, “We see how the county is, garbage everywhere, roads are in bad condition and all the blame is directed at the governor. He needs a deputy to advise him and do some of these jobs, especially supervisory.”

However, Governor Sonko defended himself saying that he is still new in office but with time, all is going to be resolved.

Sonko who has been without a deputy for four months now since the ex-deputy Polycarp Igathe’s resignation has been under pressure to appoint a new deputy.

Sonko is yet to make his choice even with several prominent people to choose from.

The county legislators say they gave him enough time and now they are tired of waiting but demand he appoints anyone provided the person meets the required necessities to be a deputy.
