Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi alias Sonko has hit the local dailies headlines once again after rewarding a terror survivor Sh399, 000 for scoring 399 marks in the 2016 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
The flamboyant senator could not hide his joy when Education PS Fred Matiang’i surprised Kenyans by announcing the results earlier than expected and his “son” scores 399 marks.
Likoni church terror attack survivor Gift Osinya made the senator proud after scoring good grades in this year’s primary examination.
Osinya, who is aged 13, scored 77 marks in English, 85 in Kiswahili, 87 in Mathematics, 77 in Social studies, and 73 in Science.
Through his facebook account, Sonko said that he was proud to be “Osinya’s father”. The outspoken senator took in Osinya together with his brother Satrin after the latter underwent successful surgery to remove a bullet from his head.
Sonko, who is eyeing the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the next general elections, rented a house for the family and paid their medical bill amounting to Sh475, 000 at the Kijabe mission hospital.
This is not the first time for Sonko to celebrate the success of others and giving back to the people of this nation.
