Nairobi governor Mike Sonko will on Wednesday host the inaugural devolution sensitisation week organised by the Council of Governors(COG).
The three-day event will see governors engage the public and educate them on the key mandate of the Council, projects, and county best practices.
“Articles 10(2) (a) states ‘Participation of people’ is one of the key values and principles of governance. Therefore, Article 232(1) (d) instructs all civil servants to ‘involve the people in the process of policy making,” a statement from the Council of Governors reads.
The event will be hosted at the Kencom House, Nairobi from November 6th-8th.
It will also offer free breast cancer screening and counseling in collaboration with Women for Cancer.
The event is expected to be held in selected counties every six months.
