Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant and the incumbent senator Mike Sonko said that he does not regret his E in Mathematics because he has employed those who excelled than him. The darling of city youths also lashed at his Jubilee ticket competitor Peter Kenneth and revealed that the former had 4 Es despite studying at Starehe Boys Centre against his single but popular E.

Speaking during an interview on a local television channel, Sonko said he has provided employment to many scholars and will continue hiring more. According to him, he will include some in his secretariat and later in city technocrats as he rules Nairobi after being elected as the second city governor. Kidero's political enemy said he failed mathematics but today he knows how to count money.

Sonko’s harsh responses concerning his academics have been fueled by the anonymity surrounding his scholarly qualifications. One of the questions he avoided giving a clear answer was how he made it to the university yet he did not score a C+ and above. Sonko later stated that he started with a diploma before enrolling for a degree.

He also did not spare Mombasa governor Hassan Joho as he dared him (Joho) to upload his certificates. The senator also advised those who are interested in validating his papers to consult relevant institutions like KNEC at their own cost.
