Nairobi senator, Mike Sonko has said he will be Nairobi’s governor in 2017.
Speaking on Sunday at a city hotel, Sonko said he would win the gubernatorial seat without facing much competition.
"I am a servant of everybody regardless of tribe or race. I am appealing to all city residents to know that I am here to serve them. They have tried me as their senator and they have seen how I have fought for them. If I become the next governor, they will be better off than they are today," he said.
Sonko said he would serve all residents without favouritism or tribalism and he will ensure all residents get essential services.
The senator will be battling for the seat with Nairobi governor, Evans Kidero, Water CS, Eugene Wamalwa, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, Dagoretti South MP, Dennis Waweru and nominated MP, Johnson Sakaja.
