Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has assured the county workers that their jobs are safe.

Speaking on Tuesday, he however

put on notice corrupt officers arguing that  they they will not be accommodated in his administration.

The new city boss demonstrated his strictness by ordering immediate suspension of all cashiers he found with Sh7 Million last week.

“It is completely unacceptable that yesterday’s collection in excess of Sh7 million in cash was lying with the cashiers by 11am, yet the county’s bank is only 50 metres away,” he had said.

In his assurance of law compliant workers, he said he would retain even the small staff members.

“I will not sack anybody. Even now, the person who prepares tea for me is still the old man who was working for the former governor. I cannot sack him because he also has a family,” he said.
