Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has pledged to meet the burial expenses for the nine Moi Girls School fire incident victims.
"Governor Sonko has promised to help in transporting the bodies, meet funeral expenses and also attend the burials in various counties where girls will be laid to rest," read a statement sent to the press by National Disaster Management Unit deputy director Pius Masai.
Sonko's pledge comes a day after the badly charred remains were successfully identified using DNA.
The nine girls perished in a dorm inferno on September 2.
A form one student suspected to be the mastermined behind the incident has been arrested.
On Wednesday, the 14-year-old girl was charged in a Nairobi court with nine counts of murder.
